Her house-folk were finally letting her go outside. Maybe because she was too young before, but now she was free. The young she-cat strode over to the high fence that surrounded the twoleg nest, and leaped onto it with ease. She dared not to look back and hesitantly jumped down from the high fence. It was a little overwhelming to her, the world was a much bigger place than she had expected, but she had no doubts. After all, who wouldn't want to see the outside. She smiled slightly to herself before sitting down on the cool and freshly-watered grass, wrapping her tail around her paws, she waited. Surely there are some cats out here, she thought to herself.
She didn't miss a thing, all her senses were alert. Her ears twitched at the sound of every bird swooping by and every mouse scuttling in the grass. She was intent on the outside world, and she was surprisingly calm as she groomed her fur that had been buffeted by the wind. Every once in a while a monster roared to life and she couldn't help but scrunch up her nose at the bitter smell, and she hadn't noticed the sound of paw-steps approaching.
Ripplestar was on a walk around the Stormclan border. She just needed a break from camp and acting like a leader all the time. She reached the kittypet border and saw a small bird. 'Perfect! she thought. Just what I need.Something for the fresh-kill pile. She dropped to a crouch and carefully stalked the bird, then pounced on it. The bird squawked in surprise and fluttered its wings frantically, but Ripplestar swiftly broke it's neck. She looked down at it with pleasure. Then she looked up and saw a kittypet. She stared for a moment, then decided to greet the little cat. "Hello," she said cautiously,"And who might you be?"

She jumped at the sound of a voice, but instantly collected herself when she noticed that it was a cat. Yes! Finally, some cat has come. "I'm Aura." she replied before walking towards the she-cat. "What's your name?" She was a littlesurprisedby the fact that the cat before her was different than she had imagined, but she didn't mind. But, she was a little puzzled by the fact that the other cat seemed to be acting a little weird. I didn't do anything did I? She stepped back a little bit to give the cat some room and suddenly became a little worried that she was not doing something right. I'm sure it's fine, she thought as she tried to comfort herself.
Ripplestar; that's a cool name. "Am I really that close?" She looked back at the twoleg nest and shrugged. "Well, it's my first time out here." she replied while turning her head back to the she-cat. "It's way more beautiful than I thought." She bounded over to the forest edge. "So, where do you and your housfolk live?" she asked still peering into the endless forest.
Ripplestar stared at Aura for a moment. Then she blinked. "I don't live with housefolk," she explained quickly, "I'm a clan cat. A forest cat. I was born in the forest, raised in the forest, and I'll die in the forest. Do you know about the clans?" she inquired politely. She looked at the kittypet again; the small cat looked young. Ripplestar doubted she would know anything about the clans....Ah well, it wasn't like she hadn't explained this before to other curious kittypets. She had a speech all memorized already if she would need it.... she took a few steps back, ready to block the kittypet if she tried to go deeper in the forest. Not that anything would happen to Aura, but kittypets were very noisy. and annoying. and kittypets.
