A little hunting ...... (o)

Owlfeather rose from his nest with a yawn, his back arching with a stretch before he padded out of the den. Giving a glance around he saw no one else, leaving the camp quiet in the first morning's light. Sitting down, the tom groomed his fur quickly, getting rid of the things left there from his nest. Once he was done he glanced over to the fresh-kill pile and noticed it was low. With a flick of his ear and a disapproving sigh, the tom stood and stretched one more time before padding out of camp. He would do a little early morning hunt so that when the queen's woke they would have something to fill their bellies.

Wolfheart watched the senior Warrior come out of the den for the fresh air. She too, although was normally an early waker, had thought some hunting would seem convenient for the time being. She was never known for being the greatest hunter, but looking at the little food that remained in the freshkill pile, her stomach began to twist in hunger. With a last minute stretch, she padded up to the brown tabby with a warm greeting. "Good morning, Owlfeather," she meowed. "How's the morning holding up? I've been enjoying the nice Newleaf weather for that few days. WhisperClan sure hasn't been angry, that's for sure!" it had felt like moons since she had talked to her former mentor, so the brown tortoiseshell felt the urge to get caught up with him.

"Wolfheart" he said, surprised to see the she-cat catch up to him. A purr nearly escaped his throat at seeing his former apprentice and he gave her a welcoming look. Though she had become deputy, Owlfeather never felt as if his job of looking out for her was over, even if she didn't know it. "WhisperClan has been kind to us, giving us a good newleaf" he agreed with a faint dip of his head. "Care to join me for a hunt?" he asked, wondering if she already had prior plans scheduled.
