The large brown Warrior, Otternose padded through the camps entrance holding two silver trouts in his jaws. Walking up to the freshkill pile with the juicy taste of fish on his tong, the Warrior, however, was not too hungry. He decided to drop his kill for someone else to eat and walked off, head raised towards the clouds.
Ripplestar saw the warrior padding away. 'hmm,' she mused. 'this might be a good time to get to know him.' "Going hunting?" she called after him. Without waiting for his reply, she continued. "Can I join you?"

The Warrior stopped in his tracks, taciturn. "W-why" he stuttered. "I actually just got back from hunting but I wont mind having some company-- I-I mean why not." the brown Warrior looked away slightly embarrassed. He had never really talked to his leader much, unless it was something important.
The Stormclan leader couldn't help but smile at the nervous warrior. It was a good idea to get to know her clan mates. "C'mon, put those fish down and let's go." She spun around and began running. "I'll race you to that tree over there!" she yowled over her shoulder. Just because she was leader, didn't mean she had to be formal all the time. She enjoyed a good run or swim as much as any cat!
The warrior dropped his jaw, the fish falling out as it dangled. Shaking off the sudden surprise of his leader's daring move, the Warrior raced after her in a flash. she actually has a kit side he told himself. I guess all cats do. He ran past the Clan entrance to meet up with the suddenly overzealous she-cat.
Ripplestar reached the tree, panting, and stopped. She turned to Otternose with a laugh. "Bet you weren't expecting that!" She studied him, gouging how he felt about the usually formal leader running races like a kit. "Even a leader has to have fun sometimes!" She pointed out.

The brown warrior caught up to his leader, breath as heavy as a wet pelt. "Ya," he gasped. "I guess you do..." she shook his head violently and opened his ice blue eyes. "About that... hunting" he said under his breath. Otternose was never a runner of any type; he may have a slightly energetic sprint but his body was never meant for long distance.
Ripplestar grinned, looking at the panting warrior. It would be fun to tease him about his lack of speed. She was safe from retaliation, as her long, lithe, athletic body was built for speed and agility. On the other hand, he might just tackle her. It looked like he had a lot more strength then she had. "So...ready to hunt?" she asked, already sifting through the scents in the air.

OOC: Oh, otternose is sorry he never saw this post. He must of been in his own world...
IC: Otternose sniffled and nodded in agreement. He sniffs again and picks up very faintly word down aromas with his acute nose. Occasionally, the scents can get in the way, but as for now, the musky stenches of rabbi, mouse, and vole seemed prominent at the most.
OOC: it's fine IC: Ripplestar dropped into a hunting crouch. She sniffed the air. 'Lapwing!' she though happily. She focused her gaze on the bird, and.....pounced! She caught the bird between her paws and snapped its neck. She looked up and grinned at Otternose. "And where is you fresh kill?" she asked satirically.

Otternose didn't respond. He estimated that the closest prey was the rabbit since they were closer to the fields. He sniffed again and figured the mouse might have been startled by his leaders quick thinking. The lapwing must of been tangled with the older bird sent he smelled earlier. With a slight haste, the Warrior carefully pawed his way down the fields and spotted the white pelt of a small mammal nibbling on a blade of grass. In a low crouch, the Warrior pawed tenaciously crept up on the creature. By the time the rabbit had spotted the brown predator, it was already dropping from the strong jaws of the brown warrior.
"Nice catch!" Ripplestar said cheerfully. And then: "Ooh, it's a bunny! I love bunnies!" she said slightly maliciously. OOC: can you see my signature? because I can't, but it might just be my computer

Otternose tilted his head before rolling his eyes turned away from his leader. "Thanks..." he said in an exhausted tone; not from the hunt, but from his leader's attitude lately. He didn't like it, not one spec of it. She has been too... he couldn't even think of the right word to fit it. He sniffed the air again and was glad to smell the vole. It seemed to be closer now and far off from the river. He sneered.
Not to be outdone, Ripplestar turned away to stalk a small brown mouse hiding in the roots of a tree. She stepped forward slowly....carefully....cautiously.....and stepped on a twig. The mouse's head shot up, but Ripplestar was already flying towards it. she landed with a paw on its neck, snapping it instantly. Then she looked up to check on Otternose.

The brown Warrior was heading in the opposite direction of his leader, towards the river where he smelled the vole. His body wasn't in a hunters crouch just yet because it was never any use to be in a position the whole time. As the scent began to take over the grassy meadows, the brown warrior began to drop into a hunters crouch till he jolted back up with a bit of surprise. He didn't take his eyes off of what ever he had discovered though he flicked his tail in signal for Ripplestar to come over to him.
