Thunderflash laid down outside the warriors den looking around. It was a cool, fresh afternoon as she took a little break from doing all her duties. She stood up and padded towards the fresh- kill pile as she picked up a plump mouse from the pile. She carried the helpless body back to her spot where she stared of from outside the warriors den. She took a bite of her mouse as she glanced outside the camp entrance, she breathed in the fresh scents of prey and leaf-bare. "What a great day to enjoy the previous sunlight." She meowed to herself
Talonstar had been sitting thoughtfully in front of his den, long tail curled around his large deadly paws. The tom's eyes were mere slits against the sun, his face tipped up so that the warmth would bath his face. Movement caught his attention and he focused his gaze on the she-cat that was his deputy. Rising to his paws he padded over to her and sat down beside her. "Thunderflash" he greeted, his deep voice friendly enough not to be considered rude."has all been well at the borders?"
Thunderflash turned her gaze to face her leader, Talonstar. Thunderflash dipped her head respectfully in greetings." Yes Talonstar, all borders are swell. No trespassers I assure you." She meowed quickly as she took a bite of her mouse. "So how is it for you... To be leader for the first days of you leadership? If you don't mind me asking." She meowed once again as she swiped her tail over her paws in a neat way
It was good to hear that the borders were secure as his gaze drifted towards the entrance of the camp. Unease prickled beneath his pelt but he did not share his concern, feeling as if he was just simply being paranoid. Never before had he felt such responsibility upon his back and he could only guess that was why. "I can not complain. All has been quiet. It is better than stepping up to lead during a war." he replied, turning his gaze back to Thunderflash. He couldn't help but admire how pretty she was but the tom knew her claws were also just as sharp which gave him security for her to be his deputy.
"Yes indeed, but don't you worry I think you would and shall become a great leader. With all do respect." She meowed as her gaze drifted off else were thinking of the furture battles that yet might happen. A shiver ran down her spine at the thought of it. Thunderflash bit her mouse as the tangy taste of blood filled her mouth then she swallowed it slowly as she thought for a second our two intill she snapped back to the real world. "Sorry I spaced out for a bit." She meowed quickly
Talonstar had taken her words with a dip of his head, allowing her to drift off into her thoughts so that he could succumb to his own. But he did not get to delve too deeply before he mew broke into them and he again focused his gaze on her. "It's alright" he replied, flicking his tail at her in a good humored way. "Why don't we head out and do a bit of patrolling, unless you have other things planned to do?"
Thunderflash looked at him with a slight smile on her face. "Sure I'll be glad to accompany you, and no need to worry I surly don't have anything better to do." she meowed as she finished off the rest of her mouse quickly. "Would you like to get something to eat before we go?" she asked politely
"I'm fine for now" the tom replied and rose to his paws. Giving a mighty stretch that arched his back before he stretched forward and clawed at the ground, Talonstar shook it off before padding towards the entrance. Glancing over his shoulder to make sure his deputy was following, he ducked out of camp and into the territory. His first direction was towards the Ashclan borders to see what he could find in that direction.
"Very well then." She meowed as she stood up and padded after him. She ducked out of camp as scents of the forest filled her nose. She took a deep breath in then she let it out at once. She loved to be outside of camp it seemed to relax her. She padded a little faster till she caught up with Talonstar, they headed for the AshClan border. "It's a nice day today isent it ?" She meowed very quietly
Talonstar had set a normal pace, only glancing to the she-cat when she spoke. "Indeed it is." he replied with a faint nod. The tom felt like he had been trapped more in the camp since his duties as leader began but it was nice to be free of them for now. Though he would always feel the weight of the clan it seemed more light here as he padded along with Thunderflash beside him.
Thunderflash padded a little quicker as she scented the Ashclan border. Her body lunged forward as she sprinted towards the border leaving Talonstar behind. She skidded to a holt as she stopped. She looked across the border making sure no one trespassed then she turned around as she searched for Talonstar. Oops maybe I shouldn't have left him alone....?
Talonstar only watched her go, keeping his pace even as he finally caught up to her. Pausing to scent the air he only caught the smell of Ashclan's border but no trespassers."good, they are keeping on their side" he murmured as he marked their side to leave a fresh scent.
Thunderflash finished of marking their border as she continued to walk along their side of the border. She made her way back towards Talonstar as she padded along side with him. "Well Talonstar when was the last time you went hunting. Huh?" She meowed as she felt a sudden urge to have a little fun, and hunting seemed like an ok idea.
"Not long enough that my claws have forgotten" he laughed, flicking his tail at the she-cat before bounding ahead. It felt good to have the wind in his fur, ruffling the tabby pelt. After some ways back into their own territory he slowed to try and pick up the scent or sound of prey.
Thunderflash laughed as she trotted deeper into their territory. She breathed in a deep breath of air as she quickly dropped into a hunters crouch. She creeped froward as she spotted as vole. She pounced out from her hiding position as she landed on the vole. She bite into it's neck as she killed it quickly before it could sounds an alarm call. She carried the vole by it's scruff as she buried it under some leaves. "Ha one down." She yelp as she trotted forward again
